The screen is put on top of a material like paper and ink is placed on the screen and pressed down to dye the fabric in certain patterns. Today, the most often used method to press the dye down on the fabric, especially when printing shirts, is the rotary method.
Screen printing is eco-friendly in that the screens can be re-used after cleaning. If the screen is no longer being used for a particular print run, then the screen can be cleaned and used again or another printing job.
